High Altitude Sickness
A high-altitude climate can affect people in various ways. While many people never feel the effects, some come down with a few basic symptoms, including headaches, loss of appetite, dizziness and trouble sleeping. Luckily, there are a variety of simple treatments to combat your sickness. First and foremost – Stay Hydrated – Stick with water or liquids that replace electrolytes. Avoid sugary or caffeinated beverages such as soda-pop. These liquids act as diuretics and can dehydrate you. Drink lots of water! Eat Right – A meal high in carbohydrates will improve your body’s ability to absorb oxygen, and will give you the energy needed to adjust to the elevation. Take it Easy – Over-exerting yourself will only make it harder to adjust to the elevation. Try a low-impact activity on your first day. If symptoms still persist, seek treatment at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco to ensure your trip is pleasurable.
On-site Contact Information
If you need to contact someone onsite, please call Stacie Cisco’s cell phone at 303-929-4500. Or you can stop by the registration desk and anyone at the desk will be more than happy to help answer your questions. We want to ensure you have a successful conference experience!
